Hurricane Preparedness

VG Section 4  Boards Hurricane Preparedness and Recovery overview can be reviewed HERE.  The Board further authorizes an emergency Disaster Preparedness Volunteer Group to be formed utilizing available Association Owners.  The Following offers further public information that you may find helpful.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th each year.  An excellent local resource for hurricane readiness is the Manatee County  Hurricane Readiness Center .  Being informed and having a solid plan in place will better prepare your family for a safer hurricane season.

Informative subjects to consider are Special Needs Registry, Emergency SheltersBuild a Disaster Kit , Document your PropertySafeguard Documents and Valuables  and Create a family Contact Emergency Communications Plan .

Here is the current Evacuation Zones and routes from Manatee County as well as the definitions of Evacuation Levels.  

You can also sign up for the CodeRED Emergency Notification System to receive notifications from government and public safety officials. You will receive CodeRED alerts for emergency updates such as evacuation notices, boil water advisories, weather warnings, and hazardous traffic or road conditions.
